Bendtner Plays Hero for Arsenal

Soccer Share
Arsenal still believes they have a shot at the Premier League title, and Bendtner helped reaffirm that thought with a stoppage time winner today. Arsenal would beat Hull City 2-1, with the other goals coming from Russian Andrei Arshavin and Jimmy Bullard.

The goals would come early in this one, with Andrei Arshavin stumbling through several Hull tackles to prod home a 14th minute goal. Hull City would answer quickly in the 28th minute when Sol Campbell had a bad tackle on Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink to set up a Jimmy Bullard penalty. Arsenal had complete control of this game late with 18 shots to 9 of Hull City's, and also had 6 more corners. The possession heavily favored the Gunners 69% to 32%. This came courtesy of a second yellow card and a sending off of George Boateng in the 45th minute. His clumsy tackle on Arsenal's Sagna could have brought a straight red had the situation called for it.

Arsenal is running into stride late in the season, and with a Champions League spot all but guaranteed they can now fight for the top spot in the EPL.
