FIFA Unapologetic Over Goal-Line Technology

Advert
Soccer Share
The International FA Board meeting ruled that no talks of goal-line technology will continue ahead of this years' World Cup in South Africa. Right after the decision was handed down, a rightful goal would be ruled down in the quarterfinal tie of Portsmouth-Birmingham.

What will it take for these men to accept that technology has to be used in soccer?

FIFA general secretary Jerome Valcke has said he hopes that FIFA's decision will not come back to haunt them in South Africa. At the very least this tournament has to include goal-line technology to rule out the obvious human error. Mistakes are unacceptable at that level when they can be so easily fixed.

I understand that FIFA wants to keep the game wholesome and doesn't want technology in all facets of the game. They must at least provide some sort of backup system, whether it be additional refs or goal-line cameras, to make sure that a fair game is called. When a team goes crying at the World Cup for a no-call, they will know exactly where to turn their anger.
