Kenyon Martin's chronic patella tendinitis has continued to sideline him and he just missed his second consecutive game. The medical staff ruled him out of the game on Portland Trail Blazer game on Sunday and he can expect further testing throughout the week.
His condition has worsened in the past weeks as he has attempted to play through the pain to no avail. Doctors are expected to run further MRIs and will hopefully be able to pinpoint the problem soon. The Denver Nuggets and my fantasy basketball team hang in the balance as he is a key player in the Nuggets' potent inside game.
He's averaging 11.8 points and 9.6 rebounds and has been a great defensive presence on the court. Coach George Karl expects there to be news within the week and then they can move forward with or without the big man. The Nuggets have 20 games left to go until the playoffs and are definitely going to need Martin to take a shot at the Los Angeles Lakers.
