The Florida Panthers traded defensemen Jordan Leopold to the Pittsburgh Penguins for a 2010 second-round draft pick.
Leopold has seven goals, 11 assists, and a minus seven rating in 61 games this season. He was drafted in the second round of the 1999 NHL Draft by the Anaheim Ducks. Leopold has played for the Calgary Flames, Colorado Avalanche and the Panthers. He has 36 goals and 91 assists in 416 NHL games throughout seven seasons.
The Dallas Stars signed left-winger Steve Ott to a four-year, $12 million contract extension.
He has 11 goals, 12 assists, and a minus 13 in 52 games this season. He was selected number 25 overall in the 2000 NHL Draft by the Stars. Ott made his pro debut in the 2002-03 season. He has scored 51 goals and 85 assists in 389 games with Dallas.
