Manchester United pulled out a second consecutive League Cup championship at Wembley Stadium on Sunday.
Wayne Rooney came on in the 44th minute and provided the winner for Man U in the 74th minute.
The scoring would start from the Aston Villa side in the 5th minute as Nemanja Vidic brought down Gabriel Agbonlahor in the box and James Milner sent Man U keeper Tomasz Kuszczak the wrong way for the early lead. Manchester United would pick up the pace and Michael Owen would equalize in the 12th minute. Richard Dunne would blow his mark, Berbatov, and the ball would roll right to Michael Owen in the penalty area for a cool finish. Rooney would provide for second half magic and hit his 28th goal of the year. Antonio Valencia's cross dropped right to Rooney and he rocketed past Villa keeper Brad Freidel.
