After watching the USA vs Canada game, I realized one thing, Canadians truly are crazy about their hockey.
This brings me to my point, the NHL needs more teams in Canada. I know almost all of the big Canadian cities have a team, but I want more. I want to eliminate any NHL franchise that plays in a city without natural ice. I want to watch the crazed Canadian fans root for their team like it's life or death.
Hockey in Canada seems to be similar to the cult like following of soccer in Europe. It's huge and the fans take it very seriously. The NHL needs to tap more into this crazed fan base. Are the fans in Nashville and Tampa Bay really going to miss their teams.
Obviously Canadians hold this sport in a much higher regard than Americans. It seems embarrassing that the players who just played in that atmosphere must now go play in a country for fans who, on the whole, don't care about it.
