Canadian hockey has yet another reason to be embarrassed today following the Canadian women’s hockey team's celebration after their win over the United States on Thursday.
All sports fans have heard of pouring Gatorade on the coach after a football victory or popping champagne in the locker room, right? Well, this celebration goes way beyond that.
After the game Thursday, and after all fans had left the stadium, the Canadian hockey team re-emerged from their locker stocked up with beer, champagne and cigars and went on to celebrate on the ice.
“The members of Team Canada apologize if their on-ice celebrations, after fans had left the building, have offended anyone,” Hockey Canada said in a statement to the Los Angeles Times. “In the excitement of the moment, the celebration left the confines of our dressing room and shouldn’t have.”
