Fox announced today that they would be televising the UEFA Champions League final, Europe's most notable soccer tournament, this May. That makes it roughly attempt number 12,314 to try and sell soccer to the American public.
It's time to face the facts, America does not want to embrace soccer, just as Europe doesn't want to embrace American football. Pele was supposed to make it big, then Bechham, but the truth is we're just not interested. It's about time for the NFL to stop playing games in Europe, and for people to stop trying to make soccer big in America.
